We will be taking our first math District Assessment this Wednesday, October 29. So that students are prepared for this major assessment they should be able to:
- Solve problems that incorporate understanding the problem, making a plan, carrying out the plan, and evaluating the solution for reasonableness.
- Use division for problem solving and interpret the remainder within a given context
- Make generalizations from patterns or sets of examples and nonexamples
- Use place value to read, write, compare, and order decimals through the thousandths place
Students will be given a review sheet the first part of next week that they may take home and practice. We only had 61% of our students pass the Math Common Formative Assessment (CFA) that was given a couple of weeks ago. Remember, these are stepping stones to TAKS. Students should really prepare and take them seriously, so that we have an idea of what students are in need of before TAKS.
