Science Fair

On Friday, I sent home a Science Fair folder with all of our students. When students return, I will be adding more instructions to their folders. Over the break, students were supposed to pick a topic for their science investigation and write their problem in the form of a question. There is a sheet in the left pocket that needs to be filled out and initialed in the top corner by a parent. I will be assigning consequences to the students that have not turned them in as of Friday, December 5.

Below you will find a copy of the Science Fair Packet that went home over the break, that you can print from or use as a reference if needed. It contains general information and timelines for completing student science fair projects at home. PLEASE NOTE: ALL 5th Grade students at QVE are required to submit a science fair project (using the above guidelines) on January 20, 2009!

I have also posted some examples of questions/experiments below. Please note that the project requirements specifically state that it must be something that is observable. That means a model of the solar system will not work. I have also posted some websites that can be used as well.
